International Airport Noise Survey, India

Aircrafts are a major source of noise particularly during the take-off and the landing. Ideally, the airports should therefore be away from human habitation so that people are not affected by the noise created by air traffic. However, this is often not the case.

At present in India, a number of new airports are being developed and many existing airports are being expended and upgraded. Mumbai International Airport is being upgraded and noise levels around the airport are therefore expected to increase.

Telemetrix was commissioned by Bruel & Kjaer EMS on behalf of Mumbai International

Airport Limited (MIAL) to undertake a noise study to identify the suitable locations for the installation of a number of permanent Noise Monitoring Terminals (NMTs).
